Puempel has 73's playing exciting hockey early on

DRESDEN - When the Essex 73's hired Matt Puempel to take over the head coaching duties, it was with anticipation that he would be able to continue to guide the club in its winning ways. Thirteen games into the season and Puempel has done just that.

After an opening-season loss to the Wheatley Sharks back on September 9th, the Essex

73's have won 12 games in a row, and their 12-1-0-0 record has them ranked #1 in the PJHL standings.

The 73's skated out of Dresden last night with a 4-1 road win over the Kings (6-5-1-0).

Gavin Gaudet, Marcus Levesque, Nash Giles and Ben Muscedere did the scoring for Essex. Josh Lepain had two assists and rookie goaltender, Daniel Cinelli, recorded his 5th win of the season, stopping 22-of-23 shots.

Dresden got its loan goal off the stick of Damon Tope while allowing 44-73's shots on goal.
