MOORETOWN, ON – The Essex 73's picked up a well-deserved 4-1 win on the road Saturday night against the Mooretown Flags. Essex generated consistent offensive pressure throughout the night, outshooting Mooretown 39-32. The 73's built their lead with goals from four different players: Adrian Bosev, Austin Guevremont, Josh Lepain, and Brett Jones. Many of the 400-plus fans who turned up to the rink on a beautiful Tuesday night in Essex were anticipating a great hockey game, based on the standings. In the end, Essex came out flying and seemed to capitalize on every opportunity enroute to an easy 8-1 win over the Dresden Kings. Vancoillie, Mathieson come propel Essex
Game one of the first of six games this regular season between the Essex 73's and the Lakeshore Canadiens went to the 73's last Friday night, 1-0. Jake Vancoillie turned aside all 28 shots for the shutout, and Noah Mathieson found the back of the net in overtime for the only goal of the game. Essex had 31 shots at the Lakeshore goal.

Essex hosted the Walpole Island Wild Tuesday night and defeated them in easy fashion, 7-0, peppering the Wild goaltender, Cole Murphy-Myers, with 61 shots. Horrocks spectacular in 3-2 Admirals loss to 73's
Bennett Horrocks put on a goaltender clinic Saturday night in Amherstburg kicking out 70-of-73 shots including 34 alone in the third period as the Essex 73's narrowly defeated the Admirals 3-2 to move to 5-1 on the season. The Admirals drop to 2-4. Horrocks started the season in Essex last season and was traded to the Admirals after just a couple games. Adrian Bosev scored twice for the Essex 73's as they picked up a road win Thursday night in Walpole Island, 5-2. Essex improves its record to 4-1 now on the season as Walpole Island drops to 0-5. Tuesday night the Essex 73's hosted the Wheatley Sharks and needed two empty net goals in the third period to finish the job. Daniel Cinelli watched from the sidelines patiently the first couple games of the season, but he got his moment Thursday night and stopped all 15 shots to earn his first ever junior win - a 3-0 shutout over the Walpole Island Wild, Thursday night in Walpole.
