73's earn 4-1 road victory

MOORETOWN, ON – The Essex 73's picked up a well-deserved 4-1 win on the road Saturday night against the Mooretown Flags.

Essex generated consistent offensive pressure throughout the night, outshooting Mooretown 39-32. The 73's built their lead with goals from four different players: Adrian Bosev, Austin Guevremont, Josh Lepain, and Brett Jones.

It appears the 73's are not needing to rely on any one player, or one line, this season to find success.

In goal, rookie Daniel Cinelli delivered a strong performance for Essex, stopping 31 of 32 shots on the evening.

Mooretown broke through late in the third period to spoil the shutout bid. With just 28 seconds remaining, the Flags capitalized on a power play to prevent Cinelli form earning his third shutout of the season.

Essex will host the Blenheim Blades Tuesday night for their annual Pink on the Rink night.

With the win, Essex improves their record to 9-1-0-0 on the season, while Mooretown moves to 3-5-2-0.
